Welcome to our homely accommodation in Stjärnsund, southern Dalarna, Sweden. Fridhem is a large red-painted wooden building from the 1890s located opposite the church. Behind the house is Fridhem's garden, a landscaped forest garden that is open to visitors and with tours in the summer organised by the Stjärnsund Permaculture Association.
Stjärnsund is surrounded by beautiful lakes and and nature walks. Stjärnsunds Manor House and the English park is worth a visit with its magical enchanted forest. In summer there is a public swimming area at Björnnäbba and the possibility to rent a canoe in Stjärnsundskiosken, Stjärnsund's well-stocked general store.
In winter you can ski around Sörbosjön with lighted track and ice skate on lake Grycken. There are alpine ski facilities in Romme and Kungsberget only 70 kms away.
Fridhem's hostel has 7 guest rooms with a total of 18 beds. We have a guest kitchen and several modern toilets and showers that are shared with other guests.
You can book double rooms, triple rooms or family rooms. If you desire a single room you can book a double room for yourself.
There is free parking at the front of the house.
You can cancel your room free of charge if it is done no later than 24 hours before our check-in time of 5:00 p.m.
Our guests may participate in open events such as free dance, country dancing, yoga or qi gong when available.
